When you start doing research on the Internet, you may find some real gems and want to share them with your colleagues or students. How can you do this? Telling people or writing on a whiteboard is not the ideal way to share here because it is very easy to make errors when transcribing URLs, so copy and paste is a more accurate method. Perhaps you have used email for this purpose. If you use a learning management system like D2L or Moodle you may have used forums to share URLs for helpful resources. Of course, wikis and blogs, Twitter and Facebook can also be used for this purpose.
Week 1 Management briefly mentioned Delicious and Diigo as a means of managing bookmarks, but they also allow yo to share resources you find useful. If you didn't watch any of the videos about social bookmarking, it would be a good idea to watch Lee Lefever's YouTube video, Social Bookmarking in Plain English. Once you have setup a social bookmarking account and encouraged your students or colleagues to do the same, social bookmarking provides a very efficient means of sharing links to resources with annotations.
